How to make a parchment paper circle
There are many ways to make a parchment paper circle. One popular way is by folding and a piece of parchment paper, making one strategic cut then voila, you’ll have a parchment paper circle that is a custom fit for your cake pan.
What is a parchment paper circle used for?
When you make a cake there typically is a point when you prepare your cake pan. This is a process of greasing and flouring the cake pan so that your cake comes out of the pan after baking. Using parchment paper when you prepare your cake pan will increase your chances that your cake will fall out easily.
It’s like parchment paper origami
Making a parchment paper circle is easy and fun to do. Think of when you were a kid and you folded paper to make snowflakes.
Let’s get to it!
Instructions
You need 3 things
- parchment paper
- cake pan
- scissors
- Start with a piece of parchment paper that is larger than your cake pan
2. Fold the bottom edge up to meet the top edge
3. Fold left edge over to meet the right edge
You should now have something close to a square. There should be a point on the bottom left corner. This will become the center of your circle.
The left-side will have a single fold like the spine of a book. The bottom should have two folds.
4. Holding down the point, make a triangle by taking the bottom edges and folding them up to match the edge of the single fold
5. Make another fold in the same direction
You should now have something that looks like a cone
6. Place the point of the cone on the center of the bottom-side of your cake pan
Cut along the outside edge
7. Open it up and voilà!
