How to prepare a cake pan
So why is it important to prepare a cake pan? Simple. So your cake falls out of the pan after baking. It is a very easy to do. You work very hard making your cake, you want to make sure it falls out of the pan.
Use parchment paper
Parchment paper is a very valuable tool when preparing cake pans. Lining your cake pan with parchment paper can help your cake fall out easily after baking.
It’s easy to make a parchment paper circle. I’ll show you!
Make sure you are using parchment paper, do not use wax paper. (You don’t want your cake to taste like a crayon.)
Instructions
You’ll need 5 things
- shortening
- flour
- parchment paper circle
- cake pan
- paper towel
- With a paper towel grease the inside surface of the cake pan with shortening
2. Line the bottom of the pan with a parchment paper circle
3. Dust the inside of the cake pan with flour
You’re ready to bake!
Tip: When preparing multiple pans you can streamline the process. Grease each pan, insert the parchment paper circles then line them up. Now you’re ready to dust with flour one after the other, going down the line dropping the excess flour into the next pan.
